Pre-Registration Training Programme in Pharmacy

Are you a pre-registration pharmacist who wants to get the best out of your pre-registration year?

The University of Sunderland is continuing to offer its successful pre-registration training programme, which assists trainees in meeting the learning objectives of the pre-registration year and prepares for the new style GPhC assessment. The programme will allow you to keep abreast of the fundamental clinical and practice theory of pharmacy whilst giving you the opportunity to network with fellow pre-registration pharmacists on a regular basis throughout the year.

Detailed Description

Course overview

This 10-session course will support trainees throughout the pre-registration year and ensure appropriate knowledge for the new style General Pharmaceutical Council Registration Assessment.

We fully understand the pressures of the pre-registration year and this course will help you develop your full potential by focusing on key elements of the pre-registration syllabus and new style assessment. We will support your professional development through monthly sessions on topics including clinical systems, pharmacy law, calculation practice and emergency first aid, including three mock assessments throughout the course.

Our programme leaders have wide-ranging experience as pre-registration tutors and our academic staff have backgrounds in both hospital and community pharmacy. External speakers, who focus on up-to-date clinical issues, supplement our teaching.

The contact time for this course is one day per month at the University of Sunderland, for a total of 10 sessions. The course does not earn you credits, but it will help prepare you for the GPhC assessment as well as life after registration.
